These are made to be seen every day rather than kept for one, so they are built for it: assembled on individually turned links rather than threaded on a cord, which is what lets a single link be opened and put right years later without disturbing the rest. Made singly by hand, so no two come out the same, and one made again on request will differ a little from the one you saw.
