Every link here is cut, rolled, seated and closed by hand — fifty-nine times, before a single decade is finished. Each bead sits on its own wire rather than on a shared cord or a machine chain, so a single link can be opened and put right without disturbing the rest.

How the rosary is prayed
The prayers are short, and there are not many of them. The order of them takes an evening to learn, and the rest is repetition — which is the whole point of a rosary, and why it is counted on beads rather than read off a page.
